Our Mission

Our Village Hands is a Christ-centered nonprofit organization based in Madison, Alabama, with a proposed launch in 2026. Our mission is to co-fund adoptive families’ essential home and vehicle needs that arise from family growth, ensuring that every child welcomed through adoption has a safe and nurturing place to call home.

Rooted in James 1:27 — “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.” — Our Village Hands reflects God’s heart for adoption and His desire for His people to come together in love and generosity.

Our vision is to see families strengthened and fully equipped to continue kingdom work — to raise children who will know the love of Christ and grow in stable, faith-filled homes.

It’s all in the Family

It all starts with a family who chooses to open their door to a child through fostering. This is a big and sacrificial step as the family invites trauma into their home. When the family chooses to keep that child who has been permanently separated from their parents, they lose financial support. Often families either don’t start the process of adoption, or after adopting one child quickly find that the increase in needs is greater than their financial capacity.

Mothers may find it necessary to become stay at home moms or full-time caretakers, decreasing the household income. Other families incur increased medical, educational, or psychological expenses, and are forced to consider becoming a dual income family. Many find that they are outgrowing their home and their ability to continue to open their home to orphaned children.

Our goal is to identify families with these increased needs and consider how the family of God can come alongside and help support the adoption of orphans into solid families and stable homes.

An Empowered Family

When parents are not overwhelmed by the financial long-term weight of adoption, they are better able to help their biological as well as adoptive children integrate, heal from trauma, and become successful citizens. Our Goal is to help families through financial counseling and financial support, as well as a course of study that aims at deepening relationships with God. Planning for the present and future, and ensuring parents have a sustainable house, vehicle and educational budget, meeting families where there is a hardship, and setting them up for a stable future in stewarding the abundance of God will be our aim.

Adoptive Family Financial Assistance

Our Village Hands provides crucial financial assistance to families adopting children from the foster system. We offer co-funding options for the purchase of necessary accommodations such as vehicles, homes, or home additions or "accessory dwelling units", to make space for new family members. This service aims to alleviate the financial burden on adoptive families, allowing them to focus on providing a nurturing environment. Our goal is to enable families to meet the unique needs of each child, ensuring a stable and loving home. Through our assistance, we hope to inspire more families to consider adoption as a viable option.

Community Engagement Programs

We believe in the power of community support for adoptive families. Our Village Hands organizes community engagement programs that connect individuals and groups with opportunities to serve and support these families. Whether through volunteer work, donation drives, or community events, participants can contribute to the well-being of adoptive families. These programs foster a sense of unity and shared responsibility, creating a supportive network around families and their adopted children. By engaging the community, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of adoption and encourage more people to get involved.

Financial and Educational Workshops

Our Village Hands wants to offer financial and educational workshops and a network designed to support adoptive families throughout their journey.
